Random Pick of the Week: Eco Chic Home Office

Photobucket

I got this image from the Danny Seo blog. Apparently everything at this home based office is recycled and have been reused. Pretty cool considering it all looks fairly modern and new!

Casual Sunday: Brunch in a Nook (with critters)

Photobucket

Brunch in a Nook from Country Living's Kitchen Details. Perfect for houses with smaller spaces. I actually prefer this to a large dining room, but I guess those are always necessary for formal events. Since it's mother's day I figured I'd post something simple but enjoyable. And I came across THESE to match!

Color Palette Wednesday: Pantone's Color of the Year in Balderbrae

Photobucket

Artist James Steinmeyer's old country home is bathed in this year's mimosa. It's stunning. Even for someone like me who generally shies away from such colors.

For Little Ones: Not all mothers like powder blue!

Ok so whenever I look at Coastal Living I see things that I want to buy (mirrors, drawers etc) But what caught my attention this time are all the nautical inspired children's rooms. I would love to have one for my son. I'm not a fan of pastel colors for babies rooms because it is so cliche... i'd prefer a pastel oriented mural or some accents. After all, I do know what it was like to grow up with the same room almost my whole life (unicorn wallpaper and all)... it wasn't until I was 12 that I got to paint my room the color of my choice (lavender). I do know the pain, and I don't want Lucas to think we smothered him with cornflower blue just because that was the norm. Navy and indigo can carry you throughout the teenage years without a hint of teasing from the girls!

IKEA Love: Modified Pendant Hanging Lamps!

Photobucket

I love IKEA. When I made this blog I knew I'd be paying homage to my favorite go-to warehouse for all the ways it made me feel so cool (building my own dining tables and shelves). I came across these pendant lamps on flickr, and I realize that while IKEA provides the basics, you can pretty much amp anything they have up to a whole other level. These are really pretty.
